Wood: traditional lusterware

I was reminded to day of a person that helped fuel my creative drive: Beatrice Wood (look at that picture, is she not fabulous? She lived to be 105). She is the most noted woman potter of contemporary history. To read more about her and her incredible life and loves, visit her website.
On another note, for a moving read, visit Cobalt Violet today. Lucinda touches on subjects that are at the heart of the matter for women. It will make you think.

You are so sweet Diana. Thank you.
I too love Beatrice Wood! I finally went to her home and studio. It is truly inspiring. They have videos of her there along with some of her work. She was amazing. Her wheel sits in a corner window over looking this beautiful valley in Ojai. If you haven't been, you would love it! My sister years ago actually met her there shortly before she died. She is truly inspiring!
Lucinda, I have never been there, but maybe one day will make a pilgrimage. If I do it, I will stop by and pick you up first, and you can give me the tour of Ojai :) :)
Of course, the grand tour! Any time! My sister and my parents all live there so I am there all the time.
I am sorry about your friend and what she is going through. I know how scary it can all be and every decision is so enormous. I will being keeping her in my thoughts and prayers.
I didn't know she had passed on.
