Headboard

Today I got a good start on my new headboard, which will go into the existing suite. This was made from 14 20x20cm canvases that I detail painted and copper/gold leafed. The individual canvases were then mounted onto a multi laminiate board that was treated with gold /bronze paint.

I will of course rephotograph this when it is mounted in the freshly painted and newly decorated bedroom of the suite.

Hello bella Diana,

I love your colors and contrasts of form and direction. Will be such a "sunny" addition to the suite.

Thanks, everyone, for the very kind comments. These squares are something I have been doing for years -- they are sort of an outgrowth of mosaic work. Somehow, the strong colors and forms seem to make me happy. I did 54 of them one time for a client! It's a shame I don't have a picture of them.

Yes, your suite, Diva!

:)

I would give anything to be able to do stuff like this! Do you teach classes through your B&B?

Thanks guys.

Cherrye, I have been making art for awhile now, but this year I am putting it in overdrive to give all the rooms a new look. After a few years, it seems like either I get bored (!) or things start to look tired. The art is a way to keep things fresh. But it is time consuming!

Allison, I will get in touch with you privately.

Michele, I have had that same thought. many times.
