We have reached the goal of having the roof on before Christmas. This is a huge thing for us. We are both feeling very tired of the construction already but are happy that this phase has gone so smoothly. Only two rainy days, and temperatures have been warm enough so that the concrete could set. On Monday, the scaffolding will come down and we can clean up outside.

Diana, I'm looking out my window, the sky is cold and gray, and I'm sure glad you got that roof on already!
you can say that again, Francesca. VERY glad. I think we are going to get hit the next couple of days, don't you?
How the heck are you getting those high shots?
At dinner tonight we talked about the fall return to Acqui. I think we're going to spend a few days in NYC then come over. All we know is fall. and I want some studio time.
Do you think truffles season would be good time to come? Should we be your last guests or is that too late? and should we try the new room or what do you think?
No rush in answering! stay warm
xoxo
Diva, didn't you climb the hill behind the house when you were here? I take the photos from that hill. September and October each have advantages and disadvantages. It is warm days traded off against truffles. But truffles are something you might enjoy once or twice during your visit.
The new room is a bit smaller than the suite (only one room but with high vaulted ceilings) but with a double shower and a private roof terrace.
Cara Diana,
Auguri!!! What a relief, the roof finished! Now is the time to relax... Thanks for the tasty Stockholm pics. I can tell you enjoyed it. I'm off in January. Bacione, Ingrid in Umbria
Now that the roof is on, will you set up an area to celebrate Xmas or is it not there yet?
And, hey, if you have no place to go and the stress of your fabulous project gets to you, remember you can always curl up with a nice bottle of vodka. wink wink!
Augari Diana. I'm glad you got it finished in time - a great Christmas pressie for yourselves.
