Friday will be dedicated to giving thanks for the things that bless life in so many ways. By doing this, I am hoping to inspire others that, despite immediate circumstances and difficulties, there are things happening around us that are good and enrich our lives which we need to be acutely aware of. Being grateful makes everything so much easier, even the burdens. In fact sometimes the burdens are there to open the door to new opportunities -- and we are better for having gone through rough patches.
If you would like to participate in Gratitude Friday, you can do it in two ways: either post a comment here with something you are grateful for in your life, or write a blog post yourself on your blog, and link it back to me. I will track the participating blogs and make a blogroll of the participants.
Sometimes we can think of dozens of things to be grateful for, sometimes finding just one is an achievement. It is not about quantity.
Today, I am grateful:
for this great, rich cup of coffee which is helping me wake up after a difficult night.
for our guest and friend Diana who has flown here from the West Coast by herself to relax and just be --it is her second visit and it is wonderful to have her here.
that after a long dry spell, my creative energy and motivation is coming back and I want to feel clay in my hands once more.
for the unbelievable peaches and plums which are coming in in droves right now!
that despite some difficult personal moments this week, I am feeling a strong sense of myself.
for the three yoga work outs I did this week and for having the pool to dive into afterwards! What luxury!
so.... what are you grateful for? Tell us!!

OK, Gratitude Friday. Today I am also grateful for my cup of cappuccino that I look forward to everyday.
A great job that I am going to today with good friends and a lot of fun (not really work) - only 5 hours/4x's
A wonderful husband waiting for me when I get home with a glass of wine.
My Mom's clean bill of health at the Dr's yesterday.
The feeling I get when I do (and finish) my yoga this morning.
mmmmm.. so many things, I'll continue next Friday!
Okay Diana, you got me. I wrote my post this morning: http://www.slowtrav.com/blog/kim/archives/009314.html. Now that I know we're doing this, I think I'll just keep a running list all week.
Thanks for starting this!
Wonderful idea. I'll play too.

I am in! This week, I am grateful for...the clarity I had this week to initiate the beginning of a life-changing decision involving career and work...and ultimately returning to a way of living that feeds my soul. Also, full of gratitude for nieces and nephew I love more than life itself...and truly for landing on such blogs and tweests that have inspired me in ways I would have never imagine! And oh yes...the first day of the Nordstrom anniversary sale so I can buy this Fall's one pair of fabulous boots...lol!
I am grateful for a brave 13 year old daughter who pushes herself beyond what others think are her capabilities. I am grateful for my 10 year old daughter who is a hard worker and wise beyond her years. I am grateful for my wife who puts up with me.
this beautiful Friday morning with my healthy children all nestled and snug in their beds...
for my wonderful conversations with my dear Strinati this week...
for my wonder cup of joe and glass of cheer that is always half full...
B+ and may you all enjoy a half full kinda week....
This is an excellent idea, Diana.
I'll be blogging on this, too!
Lately, I've been brooding so much on mostly petty things that aren't going well in my life, instead of focusing more attention on the many, many things I have to be grateful for!
Thanks for the reminder to shift my focus.
Friends, This is just fantastic. Thank you all for your wonderful comments of love and gratitude, for remembering that life is full of all kinds of things to be grateful for, and that EXPRESSING GRATITUDE puts it out there in the Universe.
Positve energy begets positive energy.
Love expands. Fear contracts.
Yes Patti, the half full glass....
...for good coffee, which seems to make A LOT of us happy...
....OMG and for NORDSTROM'S SALE...
...for healthy children....
...for shifting focus...
...for having eachother!
Thanks Dianna, this was a great idea for a meaningful entry. I blogged about this today, but not sure I linked it back to you correctly!

Grateful for so much...and for creative you, my bella Diana, and your original ideas. Grateful for the magic of affinity we share with some people, for summer's water and sun and the bounty of its crops, for a united family for a few more weeks. Grateful for so much....
PS LOVED THE PHOTO OF YOU AND MICHA taken by your photographer guest!
I'm grateful for having read this post today... and truly thankful for the reminder.. Tina
A day late but not a dollar short...
I am grateful for the opportunity of living in such a wonderful place the past years...I am grateful for having a husband who shares all that I love...I am grateful for all of my friends and family...I am grateful that I still want to learn and experience all that life has to offer..Jil...
This is a fabulous idea. I feel a bit of deja vu...did you do ths once before?
I'll start on my blog next Fri.

I am grateful for the health of my family. One injury is enough to make you realize what a blessing beaing healthy really is. With health and love, you don't need much else.
I am grateful to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I am grateful for my best friend, my husband. I am grateful to have met wonderful people in Acqui Terme!
I'm grateful (for my own sake of mind) that I finally made and delivered a thank-you gift that has been weighing on my mind for almost 10 months now!!
I'm grateful for parents who will buy me tickets to the States to see them and my brother and his family -- tickets I could *not* afford on our salary now.
I'm grateful that the Brown program I worked on went well and for the opportunity to meet those fantastic ladies.
And I'm grateful to head off to work now (in a twisted way).!!! (might as well be grateful, I've got to go!) But I *am* grateful that my simple hourly-wage job brings such reading pleasures - such as again, I couldn't otherwise enjoy on our small salary. My job is worth more in extras than in money!! And that I like the people there and they are pleasant to work with (Maybe they're not my best friends, but they care about me and are nice and positive and interesting.)
I am SO doing this! Thank you for doing such a wonderful thing. I have so much to be thankful for but I never knew what was the best way to express it ... and now I have found it.
But one thing that I am grateful for is having a friend like you. Thank you for your help and advice ... you know what I mean. :-)
Next Friday I will post about one of the most important people in my life, my mom.
Thank you again for sharing such an inspiring and heartfelt idea.
Rosa
A little late in writing this but I am grateful for my good health and that of my family and so much more, but I will get to that next week! Thanks Diana for making us see that even in hard times we have so much to be thankful for.
